* Assam is going to set up Rs 10-crore project 'Indo-Israeli Centre of Excellence for Vegetables Protected Cultivation' with Israel support to boost the agriculture in the land. * "Manohari Gold Tea of Manohari Tea Estate in Dibrugarh district" has fetched a record price of Rs 75,000 per kg in sale no 44 at Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC). Manohari Gold Tea has equalled the record created by nearby Dikom tea estate’s Golden Butterfly Tea last year, fetching an all-time high price of Rs 75,000 per kg.

* Jogighopa Multi Modal Logistics Park is now become the India's first Multi-Modal Logistics Park. Jogighopa Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) of India will be established in Bongaigaon district of Assam and set to become India's first multi-modal logistics park. 

* The Jogighopa Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Assam will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 694 crore only, under the ambitious Bharatmala Pariyojna. The park will provide direct connectivity through air, road, rail and waterways to the people.

* Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari will virtually lay the foundation stone for the first-ever multi-modal logistic park of India in Assam on 21st October. 

* Bharatmala Pariyojna - It is a brand new umbrella programme for the highways sector which mainly focuses on optimizing the efficiency of freight and passenger movement across the nation by bridging critical infrastructure gaps through effective interventions like development of Economic Corridors, Inter Corridors and Feeder Routes, National Corridor Efficiency Improvement, Border and International connectivity roads, Coastal and Port connectivity roads and Green-field expressways. 

* Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched a website of Sri Sri Anirudhadeva Sports University. While launching the web-site, Sonowal said the sports university has made a good beginning and would be successful in promoting sports as well as sports related activities in the State. He hoped that the university would be able to develop competitive and scientific environment for the growth of sports in Assam.

* Assam government will set up Six brand new planetarium-cum-district science centres at Majuli, Diphu, Kaliabar, Silchar, Amingaon, and Bongaigaon. The State Govt has already sanctioned Rs 129.26 crores for this huge project. 

* The National Hydroelectrical Power Corporation (NHPC), engaged in the construction of the Lower Subansiri Hydroelectrical Power Plant at Gerukamukh, launched a website for its brand SAAR Subansiri Handloom. 

* The website was launched by Arvind Bhat, Executive Director, LSHEP, at Gerukamukh. The inaugural function was attended by Vipin Gupta, General Manager (I/c), LSHEP, and the women weavers who are also the Board of Directors of SAAR Handloom Producers Company Limited. The website has been developed to promote, brand and market the traditional weaving styles of Assamese women. 

* A state-of-the-art Robotics and Data Analytics Laboratory for start-ups in the agriculture sector has been established at the North East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB) – Atal Incubation Centre – at the Assam Agricultural University campus. 

* The laboratory, in the long run, could create agri-tech solutions to myriads of agri and allied sector problems. The lab was among a handful of facilities in the north-eastern region. It may be mentioned here that NEATHUB established last year in the AAU campus, is first of its kind in the north-eastern region, and among the 28 such hubs established for agri entrepreneurs across the country.

* The instiute was established as a Section 8 non-profit company with funding from the NITI Ayog and from the Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare’s flagship scheme: Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvination (RKVY- RAFTAAR). 

* London-based Assamese Management Counsellor and journalist Hiramani Sarma’a short film 'You Are Limitless' based on a real story that deals with the challenges of a disabled person (dwarf) both physically and emotionally, has bagged the prestigious ‘Reading Film Makers’ Award’ of the United Kingdom. 

* The story successfully depicts the struggles and daily setbacks in a dwarf’s life because of his physical appearance and leaves the message: be comfortable in who you are, believing in your strength and become relentless in discovering yourself from within.

* The Munin Barkotoki Literary Award 2020 has been conferred on young writer Abhijit Bora for his manuscript titled Deuka Konai Jay. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000, with a citation and a plaque.
